Superbad is a comedy film written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who had originally started writing their script when they were only 13 years old. Superbad is directed by Greg Mottola and produced by Judd Apatow. The film drew comparisons to 'The 40-Year Old Virgin', released earlier in the summer, directed by Apatow. Essentially a 'coming-of-age' movie, Superbad follows close friends Evan (Michael Cera) and Seth (Jonah Hill) as they prepare to leave high school. An eventful night begins with an invitation to a party, and comedy follows as Evan and Seth, along with their friend Fogell (Chris Mintz-Plasse) attempt to buy alcohol with a fake ID. As of 2007, Superbad is the highest grossing high school comedy of all time.
