The PlayStation 3 (often referred to as PS3) is the third home video game console made by Sony Computer Entertainment. Technically part of the seventh generation of consoles, it compete's with Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Nintendo's Wii. As of late 2007, it's the only console on the market featuring a Blu-ray drive, although it also supports DVDs, CDs, HDDs, and some models SACDs.

The white console was initially rolled out in Asia, although it may see releases throughout the rest of the world. The initial white console featured many of the same features as the 40gb PAL and NTSC models.
